이재균은 사건의 은폐된 사회적 이면이나 수면 아래 가라앉은 역사적 사실에 관심을 가지고 있다. 이는 특정 사건이나 현상 자체에 중점을 둔다기보다, 대상을 둘러싸고 있는 구조적 의의를 추적하고, 이를 사진과 영상 작업을 통해 기록한다. 지금까지 님비 시설의 일방성, 우주 산업의 불확실성, 폐광을 통해 바라본 사회적 소멸, 원폭피해자의 서사 등을 통해 일상에 스며든 비가시적 압력을 추적해왔다.
Lee Jaekyun is interested in the hidden social layers behind events and historical facts submerged beneath the surface. Rather than focusing merely on specific incidents or phenomena themselves, he traces the structural significance surrounding the subject and documents them through photography and video. So far, he has tracked the invisible pressures permeating everyday life through themes such as the unilateral nature of NIMBY facilities, the uncertainties of the space industry, social extinction viewed through abandoned mines, and the narratives of atomic bomb victims.
